Me: Elevator.

Schatz: Alligator.

Me (slowly, over pronouncing) Elle-VA-tor

Schatz (slowly, over pronouncing) Alli-ga-tor.

Me: Like this, Elle-VA-tor.

Schatz (shrugging her shoulders): That’s what I said. Can’t you hear me.
